Foxtail Millet Breakfast Porridge

The richness of banana and nuts is paired with the healthy and light foxtail millet. Made into a porridge, this is a heart warming breakfast and doesn't add those extra pounds.

  • Millet 1/4 cup 
  • grated Jaggery 1 Tablespoon 
  • Ajwain seeds  1 tsp 
  • Ghee 1 Tblspoon 
  • Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp 
  • Ginger powder 1/4 tsp
  • Dessicated coconut 1 Tablespoon 
  • Milk 1/4 cup optional
  • Salt 1/4 tsp optional
  • Water 1 1/2 cup- 2 cups
  • Cashews 3-5 


Wash and Soak Foxtail Millet overnight.

Saute Ajwain seeds in Ghee.Drain water from soaked millet and add the Millet and saute a minute. Add Turmeric powder,Ginger powder,Grated jaggery, a pinch of salt and water. Pressure cook for 20 mins.

Once pressure cooked,add Milk and grated coconut and serve with freshly cut fruits topped with cashews. Serve it wil Jeera water garnished with fresh Mint leaves.
