Rava Idli is an alternative to the steamed rice-lentil Idli and is made from semolina, tempered with spices, blended with yogurt and steamed. It is a Southern Indian speciality that is a favourite all over the country.
Making Rava Idli
1. Mix contents of this pack in 300ml water. Add 2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves. Stir to a smooth batter and set aside for 10 minutes.
2. Lightly grease a set of Idli moulds with oil. Pour the batter into each mould.
3. Boil approximately 1 ltr. water in a large steaming vessel or pressure cooker. Place the moulds inside, cover and steam on high heat for 15 minutes. Serve hot with sambar or chutney.
