Idli is a South Indian steamed rice cake that is round, white and fluffy and served with sambhar and coconut chutney. Like Dosai, it is made from a fermented batter of rice and lentils.
Gits’ quick mix, lets you prepare the Idlis quickly and on demand, without the need for too much planning.
1. Put 1 Litre water to boil in a large steaming vessel or pressure cooker. Mix the contents of the Gits Rice Idli Mix pack with 320ml water and 15ml edible oil. Stir to a smooth batter.
2. Lightly grease Idli moulds with oil and pour batter into each mould.
3. Place the moulds inside the cooker, cover it and steam on high heat for 15 minutes.
4. Serve steaming hot!
