Sesame oil, also commonly known as Gingelly oil is light coloured, nutritious edible oil obtained from pressing the sesame seeds. Sesame Seed oil is commonly used for cooking in India. Apart from being high in mono and polyunsaturated fats, it is a healthier source of vegetable based fat, it is well known for its has numerous powerful therapeutic properties.

Being almost flavour and odourless, sesame seed oil can be used for making salad dressings, Indian style pickles as well as for skin massage. 

Sesame seed oil is also known as Gingelly Seeds Oil, Nallenai in Tami, Til ka Tel in HIndi, Nuvalu Nuna in Telugu,  Ellenai in Kannada, and  Nallenna in Malyalam.
