About the product:

Ground Rice is used to make ´Idli´ a round, fluffy South Indian bread made by steaming a batter consisting of fermented lentils (Urad dal) and rice.


You can use ground rice flour and urid dal flour in 2:1 ratio to save the time and effort of soaking and grinding dal and rice for the batter. Stir in enough water to make it a thick paste. Add salt. Leave it for 8-10 hours to ferment. Add a pinch of Eno fruit salt or baking soda just before making the idlis.

The same batter can also be used to make dosas and uttappams. Ground rice is also called for in pastries, cakes and biscuit recipes.


Store away from humidity.
